  Today was my second day visiting for lunch and I must say this is my new go to place when I'm in this area!  The staff is kind , fast and accurate .  Today I had a grilled shrimp salad that had fresh mozzarella, cucumbers, carrots, cherry tomatoes and roasted red peppers .  The shrimp was grilled to perfection and nicely seasoned .  The gentleman preparing my salad suggested balsamic dressing mixed with Cesar and let me tell you it's  definitely a hit !

  It has been seven years since my last review for Joe's, and what a difference seven years can make.
  
  Remembering the crowds of yore, I made a reservation, but it sure wasn't necessary. While the demographic of the community has changed since my last visit, I've found that the current one is very open to trying other cuisines. So something else has to account for the fact that only one other table was occupied. I was looking forward to a quiet dinner with a friend whom I hadn't seen in several years. But that's not how it played out.
  
  When the waitress brought the menus, she started to enumerate the specials. After the first one, I asked the price. She answered, then told us the second one. But again, we had to ask the price, and then again for the third one. Like pulling teeth.
  
  The menu didn't state it, so we had to ask if salad was included. It was. Then we had to ask about pasta. "Oh, we can have them put some underneath." "What kind?" "Penne or Spaghetti." So I asked for spaghetti with my Chicken Assunta, and my friend wanted penne with her Chicken Marsala.
  
  The dishes came out with the pasta reversed. Because they were both huge plates of food, it would have been too difficult for the kitchen to remake them, so we stuck with them. But when we told the waitress later, she blamed it on the kitchen. We had a hard time believing it.
  
  While the bread was ordinary, the actual food was delicious and plentiful. That is the only reason why I didn't give the place one star. I would have made it three, but trying to eat our dinner and have a conversation was impossible, due to the waitress and a guy who most likely was Joe, himself.
  
  During our meal one of the customers went back to talk to the waitress. This was at one end of the dining room, but still in the same small (and dreary and dated) room. The waitress was loudly describing her love life, or lack thereof, to the customer, who was obviously a regular. She went on forever, with Joe standing there and letting it continue. Eventually, the customer and her companions left, leaving us the only ones in the room, along with the waitress and Joe. Joe sat back there singing, then whistling, then whistling some more. It was annoying and disruptive. Then both of them started to count up the money, and began to make loud comments about the lousy tips that some earlier tables had left. It was at a level just short of screaming, and they never stopped dissing the previous customers. They had to have known that their voices were carrying, but they were oblivious.
  
  Good food is not enough reason to ever return to a restaurant with unpleasant ambience and whose management and wait staff have such disdain for the comfort of their customers.

  I decided to try this place out via Doordash after looking for something to try and not having a car on me (complicated story, but yea).
  
  Looking at the reviews, I figured to try the place out.
  
  I ordered the eggplant parm (one of my favorites) and it met and exceeded my expectations.  It's a legit eggplant parm... the roll was nice and soft, eggplant hot, plenty of cheese.  How can you go wrong?  For $6 on a roll, how can you go wrong?
  
  Next time, I'll probably just pick it up instead of Doordash, but I highly recommend if you want some legit italian food (esp deli food)

  This is one of my fave spots in my old childhood town... we went this weekend when visiting my mom and the meal didn't disappoint as per usual. To start we had my absolute favorite calamari ever... (it's not on the menu btw...)it has balsamic drizzle, hot peppers, tomatoes and capers it's absolutely delicious! Each meal comes with a house salad we had a table of 6 so it was served family style... for my meal I got the pork cognac which was served over pork and a huge portion! I really love the food there- it's a byo so don't forget your favorite wine!

  We used Joe's to cater our Cub Scout Blue and Gold Banquet. Setting up the menu and making all the plans for food was so easy. The day of the event was amazing. They came and set it all up for us. The amount of food was so much that we had several trays of food left over. People were making to go plates to take him. And the taste and quality of the dood was the best we ever had. Everyone was saying how good the food tasted. The chickens  Marsala and meatballs were fresh and tasted amazing. The eggplant parmigiana was so good it was the first thing to go. As I was sitting with other leaders one told me the food was the best they ever had and they could see us using Joe's every year.
  
  I also went to eat there the week prior to the event. My husband is picky about restaurants. He loved the wait staff but loved the food even more. He ordered the bolognese special. He still talks about it  
  
  Joe's is a hidden place worth going to. The old school situation style of hospitality and food will bring you back.
